Instagram comments are a double-edged sword — they drive engagement and surface real customers, but they also attract spam, bots, and abusive messages. Instagrow's Comment Moderation system handles this automatically so you don't have to manually review every comment.
Instagrow connects to your Instagram account via the Graph API and watches incoming comments across all your posts in near real-time. When a new comment arrives, it is evaluated against your configured filters and rules. Depending on the match, one of the following actions is taken automatically:
Automatically send a DM or reply comment to the commenter. Great for lead capture ("DM me 'price' to get info").
Hide the comment from public view without deleting it. The commenter can still see their own comment but others cannot.
Permanently remove the comment from the post. Use this for blatant spam or abusive content.
Automatically send a private direct message to the commenter. Ideal for sales funnels and lead nurturing.
The Moderation tab has two sub-sections, accessible via the tabs at the top:
The Keywords tab lets you define specific words or phrases. When a comment contains any of your listed keywords, the selected action fires automatically. This is the quickest way to set up basic filtering.
Examples: Hide comments containing "follow for follow", delete comments with competitor brand names, auto-reply to comments containing "price" or "cost".
The Rules tab is more advanced. You can build multi-condition rules (AND/OR logic) that evaluate multiple signals at once — keyword presence, comment length, emoji count, account follower count, etc. Rules run after keyword filters.

💡 Creator tip: Many creators use the Auto Reply + DM combo for their product launches: any comment with "interested" or "price" triggers an auto reply (keeps the comment section buzzing) and a DM with a payment link. This drives real sales while boosting comment engagement metrics.
